Eating is a huge part of our daily lives, yet often we can feel out of control with our diets or our relationship with food. Ask yourself the following questions and try to be more mindful about what you put in your body.
Do you love what you eat?
Does your body love what you eat?
Does your mind get in the way or play into your diet?
I think it's really important to consider these things. It's not healthy to consistently eat poorly and fuel your body with the wrong things. It is healthy to enjoy and love what you are eating.
It's not healthy to question everything you eat and then punish yourself for eating. It is healthy to find a way to eat that doesn't leave you feeling restricted or unhappy.
I believe in manifesting your goals. But I also believe in being mindful of what you are eating and eating intuitively.
Manifest the life you want to live. Perhaps you want to loose weight, understand food/nutrition, or maybe you want to feel better. Set goals or create a vision board to help you make these thoughts or dreams come to life. Stop beating yourself up for loosing track or eating the wrong thing. Start by creating a plan and this will help/guide you towards this healthier version of you. If you are continuously thinking bad things when you eat something you shouldn't or perhaps just eating in general then this will be the energy your body and food receives-bad vibes! Not good, you need to change your mindset.
Think about it like this. I am about to eat a sandwich and I could think omg I shouldn't eat this bread, it's going to put me behind in my goals, I am going to feel bloated or I could eat something else.
I am about to eat a sandwich. I am choosing a locally made bread that uses ingredients I know and understand. I might eat this sandwich now but perhaps I will not have anymore processed carbohydrates today to watch my blood sugar levels. This sandwich has so many amazing ingredients that will nourish and fuel my body. I really enjoy this sandwich and it tastes delicious.
If we focus on the top paragraph then we will probably feel guilty and not great. If we focus on the positive thought process of eating then we will convince our minds and bodies that we are doing something good for our body. This is the power of manifestation. However there is a fine line in my opinion. We can't go and order McDonalds and Dairy Queen every day and manifest that this is good for our body. We still need to focus on feeding our bodies nutritious food. Another part of this is being kind to yourself in regards to body image. It's really important to focus less on the things we don't like about our bodies and more about what we love. The more we speak good about ourselves the more good that will come to us!
Eating intuitively is also important. This way of eating is honouring your body and it's voice. What is your body telling you?
We have to eat for health and happiness. This way of eating doesn't have to have a label of paleo or keto or whatever. You don't need a label for your eating plan. It's having a plan or even just understanding what your body needs and what it doesn't. When it comes to understanding what your body needs you can work on this on your own or with help. If you are going to do it on your own then I recommend for a short time to track and reflect the food your eating and how it makes you feel. If you want guidance I can recommend who I seek guidance from and that is my naturopath, holistic nutritionist and with an Ayurvedic doctor. I have been able to get rid of all the "food rules". There doesn't have to be yes or no foods. When you are able to just have whatever it is that you want or crave you will start to see a shift happen. You will start to not even want the things that you are using so much energy restricting. You will crave the foods that are better fuel for your body. Your body really does respond to what you feed it. If you feel unwell after eating then possibly thats a sign showing you something didn't work. It's really interesting to see how foods actually make your body feel and to honour that.
I hope this gives you a bit more guidance and that my outlook and relationship with food sparks some insight into your own relationship with food. Have a try and let me know how it goes for you. Continue to be kind to your body, mind and soul. It's a healthier way of life.
